Three mayors in six weeks

San Francisco, CA – Six weeks ago Mayor Ed Lee’s unexpected death left the city with a painful remorse.

Supervisor, London Breed, an African-American woman, temporarily filled the position as the interim mayor until a citywide election that will take place in June.  Many argued that Breed with have the advantage as the incumbent going into the election, and Tuesday night San Francisco’s board of supervisors voted to replace Breed with the supervisor, Mark Farrell, who has no intentions of running for mayor in June.

The vote was followed by many that suspected the vote was a racist and sexist move to prevent Breed from obtaining the mayor position.
