Beloved grandfather of the Cosby show, Earle Hyman, dies at 91

He was the father of the most beloved television father ever, so would that make him the most beloved television grandfather?

Earle Hyman played the character, Russell Huxtable, on the Cosby Show from 1984-1992, the Cosby kids knew him as, “Grandpa Huxtable.”

 

Throughout Hyman’s acting career, he was featured in various roles that expanded his career internationally for over 20 years.  Hyman was born in Rocky Mountain, North Carolina, on October 11, 1926.  He learned how to speak Norweigan, and later purchased a second home Norway where he continued to act.

Hyman acted in several Shakespear plays during the 80s, and was the voice of, Panthro, of the popular 80s cartoon series, Thundercats.
