Former heavyweight champion, Muhammad Ali (aka Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr), died overnight at the age of 74.

In January of 1984 Ali was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Syndrome, and during the course of the past 32 years, Ali remained active by being involved in a number of community and entertainment related projects from endorsing President Ronald Raegan in 1984 to the lighting of the flame during the Atlanta 1996 Olympic games, and more.

In 1978 DC Comics published a Superman comic with Ali guest starring in it, calling Ali the “Black Superman.”
