11 kids safe after hostage situation

Overnight Tuesday morning In South DeKalb County, DeKalb Police responded to a domestic dispute that turned into a hostage situation involving 11 children and woman.

The children ranging in age as young as seven months old to as old as 17 years of age.  DeKalb Police say that suspect, Korrie Thomas, held the children and their mother hostage a the Rite4Us Inn and Suites on Snapfinger Woods Drive.

As the DeKalb Police entered the room, Thomas stabbed himself in the neck.

Thomas was rushed to a local hospital and remains in critical condition, and the mother and children are safe without any injuries.
