Dimitroff retained, but Smith unattained (Video)

(Last Updated On: January 20, 2015)

As the regular season was coming to a close, rumors began to unravel about Atlanta Falcons, Coach Mike Smith, and his future with the team.

Smith had become what many believe was the best to ever happen to the Falcons.  Since coming to the Falcons, Mike Smith has had the best winning record of 66-46, a winning percentage of .589. It was obvious that this season would not end as hoped, Falcons owner, Arthur Blank, hired a search firm to find a new coaching prospect; a tasteless decision that somehow broke before Sunday’s game with the Carolina Panthers.

Many Falcons fans throughout social media has argued that Smith should not have been fired, but as the General Manager, Thomas Dimitroff is the one that they should have let go.  Here’s what Arthur Blank had to say at today’s press conference about the release of Smith.
