Shire smith is a South DeKalb resident that spared us her time to talk with us about about the things that were on her mind, and one of them is a serious discuss about Mark Zimmerman trial and the African-American community.
“I can understand all of the outrage over Trayvon Martin’s death, but what about the other kids that are getting killed senselessly from Black on black violence? We hear all the time about kids killing one another around the metro Atlanta area and we act like we don’t care, but as soon as someone from another race kills one of us its a problem that causes everyone from everywhere to come out of nowhere protesting.
I just don’t understand that. To prevent another senseless murder whether it is similar to Trayvon Martin’s and/or a Black on Black crime, we need to have a serious discussion about how can get everyone in the community involved with one another. Work with each other to help one another.”
