The Word on Peachtree is that Usher’s five-year-old son nearly drowned Monday afternoon. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that Usher Raymond V was swimming at a pool behind a house on Howell Mill and got stuck in a drain.
The boy was being watched by his great aunt and a housekeeper when he got stuck. Both women attempted to free him, but their attempts were unsuccessful and yelled for help. Fortunately, contractors were in the house repairing the home’s audio system and came to their rescue. One of the contractors was able to pull him from the drain and apply CPR until medical help arrive.
The boy was transported to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite where he was listed as concise and in good condition. It is unclear if he still remains in the hospital or not.
